Move from Review to Front Desk mode
Review mode is great for getting started — you approve every response before it sends. Once you’re confident in the AI’s work, Front Desk mode lets routine responses send automatically while holding judgment calls for you.
1. Check Your Readiness
Front Desk requires a complete profile. At minimum, fill in:
- Services (with descriptions)
- Business hours
- Tone preference
tocc.contact will suggest upgrading after you’ve approved 5+ drafts without editing them. But you can switch anytime from Settings.
2. Switch to Front Desk
Go to Settings and change your trust mode from Review to Front Desk. The change takes effect immediately.
3. Configure Escalation Rules
Go to Settings > Escalation Rules to fine-tune what auto-sends:
- Toggle auto-send on/off for 7 categories (general, pricing, booking, policy, complaints, referrals, urgent)
- Set sensitivity: Strict (holds more), Balanced (default), or Relaxed (auto-sends more)
- Enable “Hold new customers” if you want to personally approve the first response to every new customer
Most businesses start with Balanced sensitivity and “Hold new customers” on.
4. Watch and Adjust
In Front Desk mode, routine inquiries (hours, services, FAQ, pricing) send immediately. Judgment calls — custom requests, complaints, ambiguous situations — are held for your review.
Check your inbox daily for the first week. If the AI auto-sends something you’d rather review, tighten your escalation rules. If too many responses are being held, loosen them.
5. Know You Can Always Switch Back
You can revert to Review mode at any time from Settings. There’s no penalty for switching — find the level of autonomy that feels right for your business.
